Nick Bilton, CEO
True Story Productions is a Los Angeles-based production company founded by Nick Bilton, a New York Times-bestselling author, journalist, and filmmaker.
Nick started his career as a columnist and reporter for The New York Times, covering technology, media, culture and politics. In 2016, he became a special correspondent for Vanity Fair, where he currently writes long-form features for the magazine. He is the creator of the podcast Inside the Hive with Vanity Fair, and a contributor to CNBC.
Nick has written several New York Times-bestselling books, including American Kingpin: The Epic Hunt for the Criminal Mastermind Behind the Silk Road and Hatching Twitter: A True Story of Money, Power, Friendship, and Betrayal. The latter was voted Best Book of the Year by The Wall Street Journal.
Since launching True Story Productions, Nick has produced several documentaries, including: Netflix's recent three-part docuseries Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies, and Scandal, HBO's Emmy-winning documentary film The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley, and the documentary feature Killer Robots.
Bilton also directed and produced HBO's Fake Famous, a documentary that explores the world of social media influencers and the lengths they go to for fame and fortune, and served as Showrunner for an unannounced scripted series developed in partnership with Netflix and UCP.
True Story is currently producing several documentaries for Netflix, including a forthcoming film in partnership with director Chris Smith about "Bitcoin Bonnie and Clyde" who stole and attempted to launder more than $5 billion in crypto, and a three-part docuseries on Twitter, based on Bilton's bestselling book on the topic.
True Story has over a dozen other projects in various stages of development with LuckyChap Entertainment, Amazon Studios, Warner Bros, HBO, Netflix, and UCP.

Nicholas DeLucca, Producer
Nicholas De Lucca is an accomplished producer, screenwriter, and journalist hailing from Long Beach, California. He currently spearheads new projects, production, and in-depth research for True Story, and has played a key role in numerous high-profile projects in development for Netflix.

He graduated summa cum laude from Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts where he majored in screenwriting. Nick has authored numerous projects such as 50-50, which won best short script at NeoClassic Multimedia Fest, Mitzvahed, which was featured in Dodge College’s 2023 script showcase, and Los Angles, which is currently being produced into a short film.
A former editor for The Panther Newspaper, he was a features and entertainment writer, covering stories around Orange County and the entertainment industry, where he managed a team of six writers. During his time at The Panther, Nick interviewed notable talent, including Paul Thomas Anderson, Adam McKay, Halle Berry, Sebastian Stan, and Seth MacFarlane, ahead of their upcoming project releases.

Nicole Landset Blank brings a dynamic blend of investigative rigor and storytelling expertise to True Story Productions. With nearly 20 years of experience as a political consultant specializing in research and strategic communications, Nicole's transition into film, television, and publishing has cemented her reputation as a key figure behind some of today's most compelling stories.

Nicole's impressive body of work includes such high-profile projects like AppleTV's WeCrashed and the acclaimed film The Beanie Bubble. She has also contributed to the development of numerous New York Times-bestselling books, leveraging her investigative skills to uncover hidden narratives and craft rich, authentic stories.

Before joining True Story Productions, Nicole served as the Director of Research and Strategy at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in Washington, D.C., where she played a pivotal role in shaping political campaigns through data-driven insights and communication strategies.
Now based in Los Angeles, Nicole applies her deep expertise in research, strategy, and storytelling to develop impactful documentaries, films, and television series that resonate with audiences.
